As you'd expect from OnePlus, they pulled out all the punches with the OnePlus 13. And the specs don't even tell the whole picture - a lot of what makes the OnePlus 13 interesting are the software tweaks they've made. For example, the UI can make multiple animations of opening and closing apps - thus making the UI feel so much more smooth. They have a camera feature called SnapShot that makes sure action scenes are properly processed to show detailed backgrounds and zero blur on the action. Its just software, and every brand can copy it, but it still differentiates the phone. New this year is the Nano Silicone Carbide battery - which is a new battery manufacturing tech that makes the battery even smaller, can survive more temperature extremes, and even charge faster.
Lastly, you'll get a smattering of AI features - some of which seem promising at least on paper. You also get Google's Gemini as your standard voice Assistant. While AI is still not entirely seamless, having reflections being removed from your photo using AI and asking it to plan a vacation sounds like a good idea.
The OnePlus 13 retails for PHP 54,990 and PHP 59,990 here in the Philippines for the two storage variants. But of course, there's pre-order bonuses if you get in early. If you pre-order from January 10 to January 15, 2025, you get a PHP 5k discount right off the bat, and a 100W Supervooc Charger, OnePlus Nord Buds 3 headphones, and a OnePlus 13 Sandstone Magnetic Case (which allows you to use Qi2 compatible / MagSafe wireless chargers). That's a great deal, given that the SRP in the US converts to about PHP 53k.

If you're itching for a flagship phone but maybe a bit more palatable in price, the OnePlus 13R is still an awesome choice. Packing last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, slightly cut down camera specs, but still featuring that 6,000 mAh Silicone Carbide battery, this is a budget OP13 but carrying 2025's new trends. Its hard to complain, but it does have a lower IP rating at IP65.
Priced at PHP 38,990, you can get it for PHP 3k cheaper with a pre-order. Plus you get the 100w Supervooc Charger and OnePlus Nord Buds 3 free. Not bad.

Are you interested in a OnePlus 13 or 13R? For us, this is a great way to nab an "affordable" flagship this 2025. With Samsung's Ultra series launching at the lowest around PHP 84k these days, OnePlus has finally gone back to their roots and delivered a sub-$1000 phone we can all call as flagship-killer. Not bad!
