GAC Philippines Launches A Sporty 174HP Turbo SUV For PHP 1M - The EMZOOM GB & R-Style

GAC Philippines has just updated 2026 EMZOOM Turbo compact SUVs this 2026. Now, maybe we're unfamiliar with all car models out there, but the EMZOOM to us has quite a sporty 174 HP 1.5 Turbo Gasoline engine with 270 Nm of Torque with what GAC says comes at a very low 1,400 RPM all up to 4,500. That means you can pull pretty strong with this engine, assuming the 7-speed Wet Dual Clutch (Automatic) Transmission can do its thing. 

But we digress. The new 2026 models of EMZOOM come in two variants: the GB which has basically the engine mentioned above, 7" full color LCD instrument cluster, DRLs, and a huge 14.6" infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay - essentially most of what you need. But the R-Style only asks for PHP 100,000 more and includes a ton of tech - like power mirrors, power door handles, a full suite of driver assistances, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, powered seat adjustments, seat ventilation, 360 degree cameras, and a panoramic sunroof among a lot of other things. And they cost quite a competitive PHP 1,059,900 (GB) and PHP 1,159,900 (R-Style). And like we said, we're not experts but that's quite a lot of tech and engine for a million pesos in our opinion.

Both variants are available in 4 colors - as long as they're gray, white, or silver. Namely, Graphene Grey, Ivory White, Moonlight Grey, and Superstar Silver. Thankfully the interior can have some color in the form of either a Brown & Black motif or a Blue & Black one, pictured below.

So what do you think about the new GAC EMZOOM GB and R-Style? We think they're competitively priced and powerful machines. And have very sporty styling. The R-Style seems like a way better deal, given all the fancy tech inclusions. That said, they are both ICE gasoline cars (Internal Combustion Engine) that have no electric motor of any kind. So it is a Pure ICE vehicle, as opposed to the growing segment of hybrids and pure EVs. But still, a powerful ICE vehicle for 1M is quite a buy and ICE will not go away anytime soon.
