We've been a customer of DITO's REDCAP WOWFi product since it launched on October 2024, its an affordable 5G/4G prepaid unlimited data - with a minor setback of it being limited to only 100MBPS. At PHP 790 (Est. US$ 13) for 30 days, it is definitely cheaper than your typical prepaid residential internet which would usually cost about PHP 1,299 or above. The advantage of it being - you can take the DITO router around with you and get WIFI where you need it. It would come in handy on vacations, roadtrips, and even a few hospital stays it turns out.

Sometime in 2025, DITO silently changed the router to a much crappier one. It had the same chassis, but only offers 2.4Ghz WIFI and 1 ethernet port among other things. That was quite unfortunate - given 5Ghz WIFI was offered in the first router, and is a significant improvement in wireless speeds.

Fast forward to Oct 2025, we saw DITO WOWFI's product listing had a new router. It was a smaller form factor, USB C powered, and was WIFI 6 spec - which means it is dual-band 2.4 and 5Ghz. Curious, we ordered one for ourselves. And that's the one we're unboxing and testing in the video embedded above.
So what do you think of the new router? We do have to note though that the current product listing has reverted back to the old design. Whether or not you would receive this type of pill-designed router or the older type is really up to DITO at this point, unfortunately. But still, the service itself may be worth it regardless of which router you get.
Also, it may also be worth noting that the Router comes with 15 days unlimited internet, as opposed to 30 days when we bought it back in October 2025.
