"To switch phones, you have to be open to what's new. And to what opens," is all we get from this 15 second teaser from Google. But clearly, we're looking at a new passport booklet style foldable smartphone. We got the name - Pixel 11 Pro Fold (with Gemini Intelligence) - and a date August 12, 2026.
So its pretty safe to assume, Google is announcing a new foldable in about a week's time. Basing on the name, its going to be a high end foldable. And from the teaser image, we might be looking at multiple lenses in that camera module. But we don't really like speculating so much, so we'd rather wait.
The original Google Pixel Fold was launched in 2023 with the Tensor G2 chip and the cameras include a wide, ultrawide, and 5x optical zoom lens. Here's hoping we're getting something at least similar or better.
Of course, the Philippines has not been part of Google's Pixel phone launch countries since the brand's inception. Still, we do like to hope; and we do like seeing new developments in the foldable space.
